One of my grandfather’s favorite sayings was, “Laugh and the world laughs with you, cry and you cry alone.” Interesting how humor connects us as surely as suffering divides us.
A sense of humor is a sense of perspective. It is not a denial of suffering but a transcendent acknowledgement of it. Humor is a quantum reminder that life is perception and that we have more choices about what we perceive than what we receive. And sometimes it’s just good to laugh.
