The spice of life

I always forget how good good Indian food is. The curries and basmatis; after the holidays, the indulgence seems just right. Just as satisfying is using the occasion to talk about other kinds of food we’ve made and enjoyed recently.

For those of us with Italian influences, an inordinate proportion of one’s consciousness is dedicated to eating or talking about food. If the genetic sciences eliminate the human need to eat or cook, we might well see the extinction of whole communities and civilizations.
