Never before, never again

I don’t know what jogged my memory, but I just recalled hearing Harrison Owen opening space in Minneapolis in March with the words, this group has never been together like this before … and will never be together like this again.

It was chilling, like suddenly breathing in air after surfacing from a deep dive underwater. You could hear a pin drop. That quiet. That awe struck by the truth of it, the truth of each moment’s unrepeatable uniqueness that if we miss, we miss forever. The invitation to pay attention to the unrepeatability of every moment.

If only we could feel that (or rather, be aware of that) in every moment. I was at a book reading by Marc Ian Barasch on Tuesday and he said (quoting someone else) there aren’t enlightened people, only enlightened moments. What you describe certainly sounds like an enlightened moment.
