Post-Ingenuity

Cleveland’s arts and technology Ingenuity Festival this weekend has effectively opened the community’s eyes to how alive the city can be with a rich fare of locally grown and affiliated artists and performers. It’s obviously an event worth annual repeat.

My hope is that artists and hosts alike will continue to explore collaborations that can span the next 362 days of rich possibilities, where downtown can be a natural convening place for the area’s diverse talent. Hopefully new intersections between networks will emerge and provoke new experiments in venue creation, space use, and performance diversity. Then the events this weekend will be as much about generating creativity as it has been about presenting it.
