Not-tensing

There is an expectation that tensing up around something we consider a problem will help us be our best in the situation. A sadly mistaken illusion. Our best self emerges in an environment of self-trust. Clarity of sight is directly in proportion to relaxed being in the moment.

Give yourself a lifetime to master that : )

In winter, when it’s really cold out, what our inclination is, is to tense up to ward off the cold. That doesn’t work very well.

First, you get tired from clenching all the time. Second, it doesn’t make the cold any easier to bear.

The thing to do is to relax, and let the cold go right through you. You’re still cold, but having relaxed you can realize that it’s not so bad.
