The political high road

Every political season, I flashback to the many years I helped my father win countless elections. His ethic and aesthetic was to always take the high road of issues and data-based facts instead of the low road of what he called negative campaigning. We would scour every statement in every piece of media and speech to make sure everything aligned with these intentions.

I’m not saying this should be the standard, but only suggest that everyone should have a standard by which they hold candidates and their vote accordingly.

I’m afraid in today’s climate, Jack, that might leave many of us sitting at home on election day.

True that, Nick, for many unfortunately, whose politics are more about against than for.

Jack, the Master Minimalist, is a bit too minimal here, I say. In all the years I’ve known you, Jack, I’ve never heard you mention your dad’s political background. I’m famished for detail. Perhaps in person sometime soon.
