The 30/6 principle

How long does it take? This is one of the more common questions I get coaching leaders eager to achieve some kind of change in themselves, their team, or their organization.

My standard response: to make any behavioral change feel normal it takes about 30 days and to make it become more automatic and natural it takes about 6 months. This assumes daily practice. Without daily practice, realistically you’re talking years. Don’t take it personally; that’s just how it works.
