It’s interesting to notice the difference in our relationship with others as they are and our relationship with the images that get created and accumulated from our experience with them. It’s the proverbial distinction between a picture or drawing of a glass of water and the glass of water itself.

There is no authentic listening, learning, dialogue, or connecting together unless we can let go of a relationship with our images and instead be in relationship with others as they are.

The better we distinguish between the two, the more free we become from our own illusions and delusions about things as they are.
