Snow

Here in the States, Mid-West snow made headlines this weekend. It’s on the scale of inconvenience compared to famines and wars in other areas around the world.

I always appreciate those who carry on with little or no consideration for the drama that blizzards can otherwise inspire. These are the people who continue to bicycle through slushy streets and have meetings cross town as if it were the middle of summer.

My Zen teacher Ogui used to remind us to enjoy every season, embracing it as it is. This, he would suggest, is what it means to be fully alive.
