Sheer grace

On the last leg of my journey from community development work in Western Canada this week, I had the good fortune of sitting next to Peter Rea with Baldwin-Wallace College’s innovation center, himself just returning from 2 weeks in Shanghai.

Evident in the conversation was the current global passion for innovation on all levels and scales. It is an exiciting time seeing the universal interest in new collaborations for new futures. And that we can bring this optimism and perspective back to Cleveland is sheer grace. Those of us who “get it” need to give voice to the invitation.

Peter and his team are doing some amazing innovations, mentioning as well the national model work currently being done here by BioEnterprise. I’m currently working with Patti Choby’s team in innovations in emerging leadership development and continue to partner with Tom Carlson in innovations in social network development even as it is just becoming known as a new art and science.

My work with aboriginal, non-profit, and provincial leaders in Alberta was at the invitation focused on my innovations in applying Appreciative Inquiry to the whole spectrum of leadership capabilities.

All of us doing innovations in the region here have a social responsibility to make them as known as possible. The potential here is nothing less than immense.
