In a recent leadership workshop in an organization with a strong appreciative culture, we asked for first thoughts on what it means to be a leader, and the initial response emerged without hesitation: “I think a leader sees the world as a possibility.”
Not as an endless series of problems. Not as someone who sees the world as something broke needing fixing, or a hole needing to be filled. But the transformational language of possibility. Brilliant.
