Paradox of negativity
In an interesting chat with one of my teachers today, I was given the provocation that we can’t overpower negative with positive.
At first blush, this sounds like appreciative heresy. But it turns out, on deeper reflection, to be quite profound. Negative energy has no receptive space to see the abundance of a positive perspective. It’s like asking a teaspoon to hold a river, ocean, or sky of clouds. Nothing can overcome negative energy. When we experience positive energy, it is simply because we made that possible.

You’re welcome G. You and I have been all around the block on this, a spriritual journey in search of what is ultimately life giving. And the net is that we can waste a lot of time at war with the negative, life-depleting forces around us.
This is the learning today. We need to stop trying to overcome negative. We need to see things as they are - seeing that overcoming negativity is hopeless. We need to instead redirect our energies completely in creating what is life-giving.
