Our team
It’s interesting that the fate or choice of our geography situates our loyalty to one sports team over all others. Somehow “our” team is supposed to be imbued with powers exceeding those of any other team. We are pleased when our team lives up to this quite irrational expectation, disappointed in them when they somehow violate it by allowing “inferior” teams to win. Opposing teams are the inferior team who are supposed to act in inferior ways simply because they’re not “our team.”
The reality is that, just like our golf shot always goes where we hit it, the better team that day always wins.
