About Zen

The context for Jack/Zen is the Zen perspective. Emerging at the intersection of Buddhism and Taoism, Zen is the practice of seeing things as they are. Wikipedia does a good job of covering Zen. The practice of seeing things as they are is the practice of seeing things independently of judgment. It is the silent awareness of life as it is. People who practice and study Zen do so because it leads to an evolving sense of being present. If you want a good book to start with, I’d suggest Steve Hagen’s “Buddhism Plain and Simple.” For anything else, for example, learning Zen meditation, call or email me.
